Ayurveda & Wellness

As the “sister science” of yoga, Ayurveda is the traditional health system of ancient India.  Ayur (life) veda (knowledge) is based on extensively detailed principles of maintaining wellness through harmony with nature.

While I am not an Ayurvedic practitioner, I enjoy learning about it and trying new ideas.  I find that the more I incorporate small steps involving food choices, daily routines, body care practices, herbal remedies and the like,
the better I feel!

Dr John Douillard‘s LifeSpa website is a wealth of Ayurvedic knowledge combined with current research relevant to modern concerns.  His articles, videos and books make it easy and fascinating to learn more about an otherwise very intricate system, and the studies cited along with the Ayurvedic information bring added elements of understanding to common wellness issues.  I often point clients to this resource!
